Dr. Timothy Pivonka is a native Kansan and 1975 graduate of Salina High School South and 1979 graduate of Kansas State University. In 1984 he graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry and joined the US Army. While in the army he served in various positions from clinic officer in charge to Division Dental Surgeon for the 1st and 2nd Infantry Divisions. Following his last overseas rotation where he served as IOC Forward Section 618th Med. Co., Republic of Korea, he retired at the rank of Colonel. Dr. Pivonka also did a two-year residency in Comprehensive Dentistry and is Board Certified by the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry. Following retirement, Dr. Pivonka set up the Community Dental Clinic in Salina and from 2007-2020 was the Dental Director of Konza Prairie CHC. Then joined Heart of Kansas in January 2021. Dr. Pivonka has been married to his wife Meg since 1981 and has 3 children and 3 grandchildren. In his spare time Dr. Pivonka enjoys K-State, Royals and Chiefs Sports, building display and flying model aircraft.

Dr. Christopher Miller is a native Kansan, originally from Hill City. Dr. Miller practices general dentistry, which includes a wide variety of treatments and services including prevention, emergencies, restorative dentistry, oral surgery and endodontics. In addition to his Heart of Kansas practice, Dr. Miller also provides orthodontics at his father’s dental practice in Hill City. He received his undergraduate degree at Kansas State University in 2013; five years later, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Upon completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Dr. Miller completed a residency of general dentistry residency at NYU Langone Dental Medicine at Tukwila, Wash. In Dr. Miller's free time he enjoys exercising, fishing, golfing and reading.

Stormy Newell grew up in central Missouri where she graduated from Missouri Valley College with a Bachelors degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry.  She then attended University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene.  Stormy now resides in Kansas with her husband, Brock, and two kids Emory and Cason. She currently works as the dental practice manager and dental hygienist at Heart of Kansas Family Health Dental Clinic. After moving to central Kansas, Stormy obtained her extended care permit (ECP III) and is very passionate about getting out and serving the community.  She has participated in several different outreach programs including: Kansas Missions of Mercy, Feeling Good About Your Smile, Teeth for Two, Brush Book Bed and has worked in local health fairs as well as provided school screenings. In 2020, Stormy was selected by Oral Health Kansas as a Dental Champion for the State and has worked with them to advocate of Oral Health across the state of Kansas. Stormy enjoys spending time with her patients and aspires to help her community and state by continuing to reach out and serve those with limited access to dental care. In her free time, Stormy loves spending time with her family and watching her kids grow.  She also enjoys traveling, spending time at the lake, reading, singing, and loves learning new things.

Terri Umphres is originally from Barton County and received her degree in Dental Hygiene from Wichita State University in 2002. Terri joined the Heart of Kansas Dental team in January 2022 with over 20 years of experience in private practice in both Kansas and Missouri. She enjoys providing preventive dental care to all ages in her home community. Outside of the office Terri enjoys spending time with her family and watching her two kids participate in all their sporting activities.
